| Bad craziness with the picks this week... |
 The picks and round 1 standings for this week's tournament are
up on the site. We chose 35 different golfers. Last year's
champ, Arizona Wildcat Jim Furyk was the favorite, picked 11
times. Northwestern Wildcat Luke Donald was the second most
popular pick, showing up on 10 teams. Georgia Tech Yellow
Jacket Matt Kuchar and Oklahoma State Cowboy Rickie Fowler were
chosen 9 times each. Kangaroo Tech grad Jason Day got the nod 6
times. OSU Cowboy Bo Van Pelt, UAB Blazer Graeme McDowell and
Dingo U. grad Aaron Baddeley were picked 5 times each. Virginia
Cavalier Steve Marino made it on to 4 teams. Another OSU
Cowboy, Chucky Howell trey, is the only trey. The deuces
include Florida Gator Camilo Villegas, Abraham Baldwin
Agricultural College alumnus (seriously) Boo Weekley, Arizona
Wildcat Ricky Barnes, Drake Bulldog Zach Johnson, Vanderbilt
Commodore Brandt Snedeker and Johannesburg Jackal Ernie Els.
Sadly, I knew most of those guy's schools, including the ones I
made up.Nineteen uniques this week. Randy led the way with 5. Close behind him is Mike M. with 4. Steve, Chris and both Daves have 2 each. Dan and Jordie have 1 each. The other 6 players may regret missing out on a unique pick this week. I really don't know what to say about these picks... freakin' nuts maybe? We have 4 somewhat favorites, then we are just all over the place. I think there will be many lead changes this week. We are at probably the only short, tight course they play all year and the tournament probably has the best advertising slogan I've seen on Tour: "Get Your Plaid On!" With a winners jacket and slogan like that, you know damn well its gonna be a good one... Let's Get It On! Later,
