The Quicken Loans National Picks Are Up! |
Tiger seen hitting a fairway... |
The picks and round one standings for this week's event are on
the site. We chose 29 golfers. Justin and Rickie are the
favorites, picked 12 times each. Jimmy Walker is right there
with them, getting 11 nods. Illustrating the strength of this
field, Tony Finau and Justin Thomas are the next most popular
picks, chosen 6 times each. Danny Lee and Eldrick Woods made it
on to 5 teams each. David Lingmerth, Johnson Wagner and Jay's
boy are all 4-baggers. The only trey is John Senden. Cameron
Tringale is a lone deuce. Seventeen uniques. Jordie, Joe and Mike M. all lead with 3 each. Chris, Bill and I have 2 each. Hugh and Mike D. check in with one each. The remaining 5 players will have to find glory without the help of the coveted and dreaded unique pick. I think you can safely say there are three favorites this week. This is a strange field and a strange bunch of picks. I didn't watch any of the first round, but by looking at the scores I'm pretty sure this Robert Trent Jones G.C. is no Congressional C.C. They could play the ladies tees at Congressional and not shoot as low as they did Thursday at RTJ. Hell, Tiger was 3 under. Tiger couldn't shoot 3 under on the practice green at Congressional. They'll be making lots of birdies, so the "mash potato" crowd will be happy. I probably won't watch any of it until late Sunday (I'm playing in an outing Saturday afternoon, so no updates during the tournament that day). As far as the pool goes, it doesn't matter what goat farm they play, with this mix of picks it's just gotta be a good one... Let's get it on! Later, |
