The Heritage Picks Are Up! |
Little bit different set of picks this week... just a little different... |
The picks and round one standings for this week's tournament
are on the site. We chose 35 golfers, more than twice as many
as last week. No unanimous picks, but Jason Day was the clear
favorite, chosen 15 times. Snedeker is the 2nd most popular,
showing up on 13 teams. Kisner and Kuchar are on 11 teams
each. Ten of us like Englishman Paul Casey. Billy Haas got the
nod 6 times. Five players went with Matt Fitzpatrick. Four
times each for Hoffman and Z.J. Luke Donald is the only trey.
Five deuces: Lee, Dufner, Grace, Lingmerth and DeChambeau. Uniques abound. We racked up 20 of them this week, almost 7 times more than last week. Dan has the most with 5, but unfortunately none are playing. Oliver has 3. Randy, Chris and Joe have 2 each. Bill, Dave, Hugh, Brian T. and both Mikes have one each. Jordie, Steve, Andrew, Brian G. and I have no chance of seeing a unique pick wearing a plaid jacket on Sunday. This set of picks is a little closer to normal. A few favorites then lots of gambling and hoping. I think everyone was a bit conservative last week, probably because it was the first tournament of the year and a major. Hopefully we won't have to do that again. It takes a couple of regular tournaments to get your golf pool legs. You don't want to jump in straight into a major. I know that's why I didn't win, plus several other excuses. This week looks like it will be pretty wide open. Lot's of unique picks and deuces that will keep things interesting. The course is tight with small greens and the wind is suppose to blow through Sunday, especially hard Friday and Saturday. The winner is going to need a short game. All these factors are going to make this another damn good one, I'm sure of it... Let's get it on! Later, |
