 The organized picks and round one standings for this week's
tournament are on the site. We have a total of 35 golfers on
our teams. No one really close to unanimous, but the Spieth kid
is the favorite, chosen 13 times. Smilin' Matt is the next most
popular, on 12 teams. Eleven of us like Olympics hater Adam
Scott. Hot golfer and this week's media favorite, Colt Knost,
shows up on 10 teams. Z.J. got the nod 9 times. Defending
champ Chris Kirk and the golfer voted to most likely to fire up
a fatty on the 18th green after a win, Charley Hoffman, were
picked 5 times each. Reed, Chappell, and Snedeker are
4-baggers. Dufner, Na and Lee are this week's treys. The
deuces include Kyle R., Tony F., Louie O. and Jimmy W.Eighteen uniques this week, though that number gets an asterisks. Dave has 6 unique golfers, but unfortunately none of them are playing. Chris has the most uniques playing with 4. Oliver and Randy have 2 each. Steve, Brian, Hugh and Mike D. have one each. The other 8 of us played to the safe side of the flagstick, like Hogan would do, and will not have the pleasure or sorrow of a Colonial unique. At first glace this bunch of picks looks pretty wide open, 35 golfers and 18 uniques, but when you throw out the non-playing golfers (7) it's a little more like the norm; 28 golfers and 11 unique picks. It's not too tight, we've got 5 golfers picked by more than half of us, then the rest are well under half. This one will be interesting. And with all the Ben Hogan lore around, you just know it's gotta be a good one... Let's get it on! Later,
