 The picks and round 1 standings for the
year's first major are on the site. We chose 31 golfers.
Everybody thinks Jordan Spieth will rebound from his back nine
Sunday collapse last year. He is our first unanimous pick of
2017. Thirteen of us think Rory will complete the career Grand
Slam. Rickie Fowler got 12 votes. Rahm and the drunken,
stumbling, now on some really good drugs, D.J. were picked 9
times each. Phil got the nod 7 times. Justin Rose shows up on
6 teams. Matsuyama and Day are 4-baggers. Casey and the Bubba
are treys. Deuces abound: Kisner, Garcia, Leishman, Noren,
Westwood and Louie O.Fourteen unique picks. Hugh, Joe, Randy and Bill have 2 each. Dave, Dan, Jordie, Oliver, Mike D. and Brian G. have one each. The other 6 of us could not find a unique pick among the hills and azaleas. Every time someone submits and update in the entry system I get sent an email of the comments, even if no comments are typed in. As one might expect I usually get 16 comment emails, sometimes one or two more if someone changes their team. This week I had 28 comment emails. That's 12 times teams were changed. A lot of people changing their minds. I'd bet most of those were players taking the klutz D.J. off their team; I did that myself. I think with the weather forecast and many of the top ranked players not playing well or having issues, this was one of the toughest Masters we've ever had to pick. And considering the pick counts this week I may be right. Last year we chose 17 golfers and 3 uniques. This year is 31 and 14. Plus the uniques, deuces and treys are 71% of the golfers picked. This could be a wild one, in the Pool and on the course. It's the Masters, so I don't have to say it's gonna be a good one... Let's Get It On! Later,
