Dave B. Wins The Masters! |
His unique pick couldn't beat the human hook shot, but 2nd was enough... |
Dave B. had playoff loser Louie Oosthuizen as a unique and no
one picked winner Bubba, so Dave road the South African and his
double eagle to victory this week, finishing $282,080 ahead of
me. It was Dave's 6th career major title, tying Dave A.
for the all-time record. I had 3 top 10 finishers but
couldn't make up enough cash to overcome Louie's $864k 2nd place
money. Dave A. finished 3rd, only $7,680 behind me. Jordie
found the bubble this week, missing the money by just over $52k. I stayed on top of the season race. Randy moved up 2 spots to 2nd and trails me by about $323k. Mike D. fell one spot to 3rd but is only $20,084 behind Randy. Bill fell one spot to 4th and is $40,425 out of the last payout spot. Less than $876k separates 1st and 6th with 3 tournaments to go in the Spring Season battle. Randy maintained his "T.M.C." lead. Brian jumped over Hugh into 2nd but trails Randy by over $944k. Hugh is hot on Brian's heels, trailing him by a piddly $182. I am in 4th, about $183k behind Hugh. One more tournament to go in this pool, which will be the Wells Fargo event in 4 weeks. The Masters did not disappoint again this year. I enjoyed seeing Bubba win. Any American winning a major is always refreshing. Dave A. and Brian took some pictures when they were at the tournament on Wednesday. Check them out on the "Other Stuff" page. There is a picture of a pimento cheese sandwich, along with their outstanding egg salad sandwich, which I forgot about. That picture itself is worth the look and the others are entertaining too. The next tournament in about 10 days is the Valero Texas Open. I don't think we've ever played the Texas Open before and I really don't ever remember watching it on TV, so I really don't know what to say. I'm sure the field will be stellar... or maybe not. It will be a let down after this week, but I guess you can't have a Masters every week. The scrubs have to have their chances too. Get those picks in on time. Later, |
