Dave B. Wins The Masters! |
Three out of 7 wins this season... or would that be 3 out of 5? |
Out of the 37 majors we've played in this Pool, 14 of them
have been won by someone named Dave. That's near 40%. Since "Daves"
have only accounted for about 15% of the participation that
almost makes me want to change my name. This week Dave B. won
The Masters for the 2nd year in a row. It's his 4th Rule 20-6
Green Jacket and a record tying 7th all-time major win. Dave's
picks of 3rd place Jason Day and T8 Matt Kuchar were the
difference makers. Mike M. finished 2nd, about $142k behind
Dave. He also had Day, but not having Kuchar or any top 10's
other than unanimous pick the Cheetah (that name works on so
many levels now) kept him out of the top spot. Mike D. ended up
3rd, $122,760 behind the other Mike. Randy was the Master's
bubble boy, missing the money by a mere $5,520. Randy did move up to 1st in the Season race. He passed 2nd place Brett and his lead is slim, just $21,407. Dave B. remained in 3rd and Bill is still 4th. The top 4 spots in the "TMC" pool stayed the same, Steve, Brett, Jordie and Shelley in that order. Less than $1 million separates 1st and 10th places and with only one tournament left, and that tournament being the mega-buck Players Championship, that race is still pretty wide open. The next tournament on the schedule, in about 9 days, is one we haven't played for a while, The Zurich Classic of New Orleans. I don't know what the field will be like, but a lot of those guys show up for this one just for the food. I guess that means Carl Pettersson and Lumpy will be there. Get those picks in on time.
