John Wins The Dell Technologies Championship! |
The Commish also wins the Summer, Dan grabs the TMC and Brian T. runs away with the Year-Long... |
For the second week in a row numerous
players (7) had the top 2 finishers, so a little extra was
needed to cash. I had 4 golfers T4 or better and all 7 on my
team in the top 25 and won this week by $169,969 over Brian T.
It was my first win of the year. Brian had 4 golfers T6 or
better and all 6 of his cut-makers in the top 20, but day 2
trunk-slammer Rory McIlroy didn't do him any favors. It was
Brian's 6th 2nd place finish of the year. Dave had 3 T4's or
better and 5 top 20's and grabbed the last money spot, $209,344
behind Brian. Jordie finished 4th, $107,275 behind Dave. Despite all the movement in the Summer Season standings the week before and how close it was going in to the last tournament, the top 4 places did not change. I ended up first, $256,438 ahead of Brian T. Dave finished 3rd, $319,814 behind Brian. Dan missed the money by $514,518. Thanks in large part to his good play in the majors, Dan won the Summer "TMC" by over $1.3 million. Oliver came up one spot and grabbed 2nd place. Brian T. made a strong move from 7th to nail down the final money position, about $193k behind Oliver. Randy finished 4th, just under $66k away from cashing. As expected, Brian T. won the Year-Long title. He did it without winning a single tournament all year. Six 2nd's, 7 cashes and many other high finishes did the trick. He ended up just short of $2.4 million ahead of 2nd place Mike M. I finished 3rd, around $198k behind Mike. Dave found the money bubble, just over $1.9 million behind me. Well that's it for the 14th edition of the Rule 20-6 Golf Pool. I hope everyone had fun. Be sure to check your Current Balance on your Player Page on the website. If you owe money, please get it in to me as soon as possible so I can pay the winners. They deserve to be paid promptly, despite how lucky they were. The address to mail the checks to is on your Player Page, as is a link to the credit card payment page. If you do use a credit or debit card, please add the fees, which are easily calculated on the Credit Card page of the website. This is a convenience for you all, not me, so I'm not eating the fees. If you have a PayPal account and want to transfer the money (no fees that way), use the same link. I hope to get next year's Pool up and running in late January/early February like we used to do. It makes it easier to space out the tournaments every other week, which seems to work best. I will keep you informed. Thanks for playing and I hope to see everyone back in 2018! Later, |
