The Texas Open Picks Are Up! |
I guess the Texas stink was too bad for a couple players... |
The picks and round one standings for
this week's tournament are on the site. We have 35 golfers on
the list with 25 of them playing. Tony Finau is the favorite,
chosen 15 times. Orange Rickie is right behind him at 14.
Billy Horschel checks in on 12 teams. Matt Kuchar got the nod
10 times. Ryan Moore, Jim Furyk, Jason Kokrak and Jordan Spieth
were picked 7 times each. Six players like Lucas Glover.
Graeme McDowell is the only 4-bagger. Aaron Baddeley is a lone
trey. Ten deuces, 7 of them playing. The playing deuces are
Hoffman, Ancer, Holmes, Palmer, Hossler, Im and Bjerregaard.
That last name is too hard to type, don't pick him anymore. A total of 14 uniques with 7 playing. Accounting for only the playing uniques, Dan leads with 3. Andrew, Hugh, Dave B. and Mike D. have one each. The rest of us won't have to worry about a unique pick getting shot by random Texas gunfire. Steve and Brian T. have the same team. The NCAA March Madness pools are down to the final 4. In the men's, Bill needs Michigan State to win it all to get the victory, otherwise Steve will win. In the women's, Steve and I went mano-a-mano and had only a few games different. I ended up one game better and claimed the win. There seem to be more non-updated picks this year than in the past so I want to remind everyone that, if you want, text message notifications can be sent to your phone to remind you of the upcoming tournament deadlines. They are shorter than the emails and are only sent if you have not updated your picks. Send me your cell phone number and the carrier you use (AT&T, Verizon, etc.) and I'll get you set up to receive those texts. This is the most wide open bunch of picks we've had this year, but considering the field I would expect that. Not a lot of big names and the few that are playing we covered well. This is the type of tournament that tests all of your golf pooling abilities. Anyone can pick a bunch of favorites and get lucky... but who knows which of the scrubs and also-rans are hot or ready to bring it. It's too bad we have to have this test in Texas, but despite the rancid smells and random shotgun blasts this is gonna be a damn good one... Let's get it on! Later, |
