The AT&T National Picks Are Up! |
23 golfers this week and 34 last week for a major... what is wrong with us? |
The organized picks and round one standings for this week's
tournament are on the website. We chose 23 golfers. Adam Scott
is our first non-Tiger unanimous pick of the year. Bet he's not
unanimous in 3 years when he can't putt with that broomstick
braced against his chest. Jason Day was the 2nd favorite,
picked by all but one of us. Hunter Mahan is on 12 teams.
Billy Horschel and Rickie Fowler were chosen 10 times each.
Charley Hoffman got the nod 6 times. Brandt Snedeker was picked
by 5 of us. Bill Haas, Nick Watney and Graham DeLaet are
4-baggers. Ryan Palmer, Martin Laird and Freddie (not Fredrik
anymore) Jacobson are treys. This week's deuces are Angel
Cabrera and Harris English. Only 8 uniques. Shelley and Brian lead the way with 2 each. Brett, Chris, Mike M. and Dave B. have one each. The remaining 9 of us did not find a unique pick this week. This is the kind of spread of picks I expected last week. I guess most of us mailed it in and went with the PGATour.com's experts picks. Or maybe most of the field sucks. Anyway, we are going to have a tight one. About 5 favorites then we gamble. It's a tough, U.S. Open-like course and with this bunched up set of picks it can't help but be a damn good one... Let's get it on! Later, |
