Oliver Wins The British Open! |
When you get your picks in it's much easier to win... |
Oliver used an excellent combination of
uniques and deuces, along with having the winner Jordan Spieth,
and became the Champion Pooler of the Year by $153,717 over
Dan. It was Oliver's first career win and first cash of the
year. Key to his victory was T4 Rory McIlroy and T11 Henrik
Stenson, both deuces, plus his unique T14 Zach Johnson. Dan's
2nd place finish was his 2nd cash in a row and 3rd of the
Summer. He was the other player with deuce McIlroy but not
quite enough firepower on the rest of his team to overcome
Oliver. Mike D. finished 3rd, $46,141 behind Dan, picking up
his 2nd cash in a row in a major. Bill ended up 4th, missing
the money by $64,689. Mike D. increased his Summer Season lead to about $730k over 2nd place Chris. Brian G. remained in 3rd. I moved up one spot to 4th. At the halfway point of the Summer "TMC", Mike D., Chris and Dan are still 1-2-3. Oliver came up from 10th to 4th place. In the Year-Long race, Brian T. took over the lead from Mike M. and leads him by about $1.6 million. Steve stayed in 3rd and trails 2nd place Mike M. by just under $107k. Brian G. moved up one spot to 4th and is a bit more than $367k out of the last money spot. We have the week off and I would recommend resting up. Our last 4 tournaments come in a 5 week stretch. In about 8 days we will be in the armpit of the State of Ohio, Akron and the Cleveland area, for the only W.G.C. event of our year, The Bridgestone Invitational at the Firestone C.C. South Course. LeBron and Kevin Love will be there but they're not sure about Kyrie. This one will certainly have many big name golfers in it... I'm pretty sure that's the point of these W.G.C. things. That and free money. Lots and lots of free money. Get those picks in on time. Later, |
