Randy Wins The Bridgestone Invitational! |
When you are hot... |
Both Randy and Brian G. had winner D.J., runner-up Scott
Piercy and not so strong finisher T3 Jason Day. But Randy also
had T3 Jordan Spieth and those 4 top 6 finishers gave him a
$383,750 victory over Brian this week. It was Randy's 2nd win
of the year. Brian G.'s 2nd place finish was his first cash of
the year. Bill snagged the last money spot, $355,250 behind
Brian. Jordie ended up on the bubble, $30,250 less than Bill's
team. This was the first Summer Season tourney, so see above for a summary of those standings. Mike M. stayed in first in the Year-Long standings and actually increased his lead over 2nd place to about $448k. With his big money win, Randy moved up to that 2nd place spot from 6th. I stayed in 3rd and trail Randy by around $478k. Jordie is 4th, just over $143k out of the last money spot. Take a week off, you're going to need the rest. After the break we go 8 out of 9 weeks to finish the year. In about 9 days we will go across the Atlantic to Troon, Scotland and Royal Troon Golf Club and the third major of the year, The Open Championship, or as we call it in this country, The British Open. This is always my favorite major to watch on TV. It's on when you wake up and when they're done for the day you still have time for 18. And something weird always seems to happen. The last 3 winners when "The Open" was played at Troon were Mark Calcavecchia, Justin Leonard and Todd Hamilton. Sounds like a course for uniques and kinda-goods. I'm picking an all Swedish team. The Swedes are due. Get those picks in on time. Later, |
