The 2017 Edition Will Start At the Honda! |
It's time to get your golf pool on... |
I said we'd start before the Masters this
year and I kept my word. The 14th year of the Rule 20-6 Golf
Pool will start in about 12 days in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida
at the Honda Classic. February 23 is the date of the opening
round. We haven't played there in a couple years and we have
several other tournaments this year that we haven't been to for
a while. Two weeks after the Honda we head to Tampa for the
Valspar Championship, which we haven't played since 2007. The
next tourney is The Arnold Palmer, then we'll play 3 weeks in a
row at Houston (haven't been there since 2006), The Masters and
Hilton Head. After a two week break we'll go back-to-back weeks
at the Wells Fargo and the Players. We'll finish up the Spring
Season in Texas at the Byron Nelson. The Summer Season is a lot more like other years' Summers, not counting last year. We start at The Memorial, then hit the year's 2nd major at the U.S. Open. We'll play the Quicken Loans and the Greenbrier in consecutive weeks, then play the British. After a week off we'll try it at the only W.G.C. of the year, the Bridgestone in Akron, then immediately follow up with the PGA. A final off week then we'll finish with the first two Fed-Ex Cup tournaments, both of which have new names. We'll be done on Labor Day. For more details visit the Schedule page on the site. The website is up and running, though there may be an error or two I haven't caught yet. The entry system is working. Sign in to make sure you remember your password. Probably would be best not to wait until Thursday morning of the first event to do that. If you forgot your password use the "forgot password" link on the sign-in page. It will email you your current password. As far as the rules and money, everything is pretty much the same as last year. $170 buys you a year's worth of golf pooling fun. I don't think I made any changes to the Rules of Play, but it wouldn't hurt to read them over again. Or for the first time. Hopefully everyone will be back for 2017. If you aren't planning on playing this year let me know and I'll take you off this email list. This has been an interesting year on the the PGA Tour so far and I think that is going to continue for our tournaments. Let's get ready to get it on! Later, |
