Joe Wins The Phoenix Open! |
He had a better finish than anyone in the final group... |
Six players had winner Rickie Fowler so
there was a little bit of a battle for the money spots. Joe was
the only player to have all 7 golfers make the cut and that was
the difference for him, winning this week by $76,917 over
Steve. It was Joe's 2nd cash in a row, 5th career win and his
third win in the last 10 tournaments. Steve had 6 picks the same
as Joe, but like many of us made the mistake of thinking
Mickelson could play well in two tournaments in a row. Mike A.
finished third, $144,367 behind Steve. Dan grabbed 4th, $28,400
short of Mike. Tom found the money bubble, missing the money by
just under $103k. As one would expect, with first and second place finishes in the first 2 events, Joe is leading the Season race. Jordie is 2nd, Steve 3rd and Tom 4th. I'm in 5th. Lots of golf pooling left in that battle. Take a week off. We'll get back at in about 10 days at historic Riviera Country Club in Southern California, specifically Pacific Palisades, for the Genesis Los Angeles Open. This is one of my favorite courses on the tour. It's a classic layout with many unique holes. They've had some nasty weather there lately, so hopefully none of the houses on the hillsides slid down on to the course. If they did it will be a very unique course. Hopefully the final group on Sunday will score better than they did this week. Can't imagine it could be worse. Get those picks in on time. Later, |
